Dr. Matthew Gilbert began his chiropractic practice over ten years ago in Lewisville. It grew so rapidly that he soon welcomed multiple chiropractors to better serve the growing population of chiropractic patients. “It was at this time that I saw a real need in the community for more integrated care,” Dr. Gilbert said. “I was seeing patients for back pain who were also seeing someone else for another complaint and perhaps a third doctor as their primary care provider. However, the different doctors were not communicating with each other. I imagined an integrated practice where care was highly personalized, and all providers were collaborating on what’s best for the patient.”
Dr. Gilbert then partnered with a board-certified family medicine doctor and a nurse practitioner to provide family and physical medicine care to better serve patients. Eventually, Dr. Gilbert joined the network of Southwestern Health Resources, a partnership between Texas Health Resources and UT Southwestern Medical Center, making BBC Health a Multi-Disciplinary Primary Care Medical Clinic.
In 2020, they moved into a brand new state-of-the-art 4300 sq. ft facility designed to encourage collaboration among providers. This system gives every patient the benefit of multiple doctors discussing and planning their care. Our goal is a complete treatment plan that won’t just cover up the pain, but restore health to avoid surgery, reduce—or eliminate—the need for pharmaceuticals, and get patients back to optimum wellness as fast as possible.”
The office includes on-site digital X-rays, diagnostic ultrasound technology, and spinal decompression therapy. It offers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy, therapeutic injections, blood work, and a medically supervised weight-loss program.
